BipolarButterfly: I was diagnosed with bipolar disorder with psychotic features at age 19. The first step was denial for four long and painful years. As a result, I was in and out of mental hospitals. But was I accepted my mental illness my life began to change in a beautiful way. I went to college, earned three scholarships and now I am working for the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health as a Medical Case Worker. I feel my purpose in life is to send of message of hope and survival for those living with mental illness. I feel my destiny is to uplift and inspire and demonstrate that there is hope for wellness and mental health recovery.
